This 14 night, 15 day tour is a grand circular route around the Okavango Delta. Starting and ending at Victoria Falls, this is one of the longest scheduled tours and offers unbeatable value for money.
CHECK DEPARTURE DATES BOOK NOW / MORE INFO HIGHLIGHTS: Day 1: Meeting point for the safari is in Kasane at 1300 on Day 1, please contact us for transfers from Victoria Falls and Livingstone airport (as per Lion Trail). The first highlight will be a sunset cruise on the Chobe River. We overnight in Kasane in a campsite with permanent toilet and shower facilities.(D) Day 2: We break camp and head for the Namibian border. Once through the border we continue to Katima Mulilo to buy supplies for the next few days and then head south towards Mamili National Park. Mamili is a small national park on the Linyanti River. Here we will do game drives and walks time permitting. Wild camping, your Bush Ways team will build bush toilets and showers. (B, L, D) PLEASE NOTE: Due to varying water levels throughout the year, Mamilli National Park is sometimes inaccessible. When this occurs, we will camp and game drive in Mudumu National Park. Unfortunately, walking in Mudumu is prohibited.
Day 3: Leaving early on a game drive out of Mamili, we pass through Madumu National Park on our way to West Caprivi National Park. Most of the day is spent on this short section of road looking for animals. We camp the night wild again next to the Kwando River. Wild camping, your Bush Ways team will build bush toilets and showers. (B, L, D) Day 4: Rising with the sun we pack and head west toward the mighty Okavango River. We camp near Popa Falls on the banks of the Okavango river. Campsite with permanent toilet and shower facilities. (B, L, D). Day 5: This morning we will visit the small Mahango National Park. We cross back into Botswana through Mohembo border post. Here we re- supply in the quaint fishing town of Shakawe and then continue by road onto the Word Heritage Site of Tsodilo Hills. We will overnight at Tsodilo Hills campsite, and explore the area on foot there are several walking trails around the hills on which are over 3000 rock paintings by the Bushmen dating back to 800 AD. Day 6: After an early morning walk, we will drive south through to the pan handle of the Okavango and transfer our equipment onto motorboats. We will take a leisurely cruise deeper into the Delta via small twisting channels lined with papyrus. On one of the small islands we meet our local polers with their mokoros (traditional dugout canoes). The mokoros are ideally suited to gliding over the shallow waters of the Delta and we spend our time searching for the elusive sitatunga, enjoying the abundance of bird life as well as the tranquil beauty of the area. Wild camping on an island, limited water supplies. Your Bush Ways team will build bush toilets, showers not always possible. (B, L, D) Day 7: We spend the day exploring our surroundings on foot and in our mokoros. There is a fair amount of movement of animals through this area and we may have the chance to see elephant, buffalo, certain antelope and even wild dogs have been spotted. Again the camping will be wild on an island. (B, L, D) Day 8: Tracing our route back through the channels we return to our vehicle. Once all is packed the vehicle heads out by road to Maun. The group has a choice to fly over the delta to Maun in a light aircraft for a great perspective of the complexity and beauty of the water system (optional US$130). The vehicles take 5 hours to make the trip around the Delta to join up in Maun with those who fly. We overnight in Maun in a campsite with permanent toilets and showers. (B, L, D)
Days 9 - 11: Moremi Game Reserve, one of the best wilderness areas of Africa is our next area to explore. We spend the next three nights in this reserve looking for different types of animals and birds. Early game drives through the park will be the norm. Camping will be in exclusive campsites. Your Bush Ways team will build bush toilets and showers. (B, L, D) Days 12 - 13: Moving into Chobe National Park we will continue searching for wildlife, we pass through areas like Savuti, where you get a good sense of desert conditions, and drive along the banks of the Chobe River. Camping will be in exclusive campsites. Your Bush Ways team will build bush toilets and showers. (B, L, D) Days 14 i 15: We cross the Zambezi River by ferry, then drive to Livingstone on the Zambian side of the Victoria Falls, where we overnight at a comfortable lodge on the banks of the Zambezi. There is time to see the Victoria Falls, shop for curios and enjoy some of the optional activities that are offered in the area. All activities are optional and your guide will assist in all bookings.
