| Kasane | |
| Derived from the Subiya word "Masane" meaning "Waterberry tree" (Syzygium guineense). Kasane forms the junction of four countries: Botswana, Zambia, Namibia, and Zimbabwe. It is also the site of the confluence of the Zambezi and Chobe Rivers.
It is along the banks of the Chobe River Kasane is the administrative center of the Chobe district and is very close to the Chobe National Park, due to the lack of fences in the Park, many animals can be seen wandering through the streets and campsites of this small border town. In days past colonial administrators used the two hollow Baobab trees situated behind the Police Station as a prison cell and the prison kitchen.
