Jan,

We have just finished the Leopard Safari and I could not have hoped for a better experience. Our team – Carlton (the guide, spotter, tracker and driver extraordinaire), Avolino and Tsenelo, the world’s greatest bush chefs – all worked together to ensure that we all had a marvellous adventure, with amazing animal sightings and a feeling of living as one with nature that could not be bettered. There were so many highlights – I have nearly 2000 photos as evidence – but some were, in no particular order: – sitting in the mokoro watching the hippos in the Okavango Delta – coming back from the game drive to find the elephants feeding right next to the chefs, who were cooking dinner unperturbed – doing the dishes accompanied by a honey badger strolling through camp – sitting with a beer on a camp chair watching the giraffe parade past, so close I had to pan out on my phone because I couldn’t fit it all in the screen for the photo – watching nature at its rawest, with the lions, then the jackals and vultures feeding on the buffalo, and then the wild dogs enjoying their fresh kudu meal – and too many others to mention. Thankyou to Bushways and our fabulous crew. You deserve every one of your five stars and then more.

Anita Hawkins,

Trip of a lifetime. Recently travelled from Maun to Chobe with the fully serviced camping trip and if I could have turned around with our team of guides and completed the trip backwards with them I would have. The staff (hats off to Tebe, Gabriel, KP and Wilson) were so knowledgeable and friendly, our tourgroup felt like a family at the end of it all. Thank you Bush Ways Safaris. My honeymoon couldn’t have been better. We will definitely be back for seconds.

Marla Knight-Dutille,

In August I came to Botswana with a group of family and friends, and went on a Semi-Participation camping safari with KG Mochaba and OT Kebue. I had planned and dreamed of this trip for 3 years. I was worried that I had set my expectations of the trip unrealistically high. Nope. The safari actually exceeded all my expectations! Animal Sightings: These were simply incredible. It was nice that the vehicle came equipped with a radio which allowed KG to communicate with other guides so we’d know where to go. The animal sightings were exceptional. One of my trip-mates was born and raised in South Africa and has been on countless safaris. When he declared one of the days his VERY BEST “safari sighting day” ever, I knew we had really experienced something special. Food: Absolutely superb. I am a vegetarian and I fully expected there to be one meal prepared, and I just wouldn’t eat the meat. I was genuinely shocked that OT prepared special food for me throughout the trip. And it was truly outstanding. Plus the freshly made bread every day was an unexpected pleasure. Safari Vehicle: Impressive! I’m still amazed at how much that vehicle and pull-behind held! I really liked that we had an option of an open or closed top. The bars were really helpful for holding on when the road was bad, and the seat pouches were VERY handy for holding binocs, cameras, water, etc. If only the axe could go in a different place…. The Staff: I really can’t say enough about KG and OT. Not only were they consummate professionals, they were so personable that we all became friends. I realize now that the skill-set required to lead a safari like that is staggering. KG had to be physically strong to handle all the demands of the job. He also had to know dozens of animal species (we documented close to 100 bird species on the trip), and be able to spot them for us. His driving skills were exceptional, and his fearlessness when crossing those rickety bridges was amazing. KG also knew when something wasn’t quite right with the safari truck and called in guys to fix it without missing a beat. And then hardest of all, KG had to keep our group informed, properly instructed, on schedule, and safe – all while maintaining good humor and patience. When I reflect on the fact that we all camped out in the bush for that long and no one got hurt or sick, I fully understand what good hands we were in with OT and KG. The 8 year old on our trip says the day he turns 18 he’s flying back to Botswana to be KG’s assistant. Thanks for such a great experience! I have travelled a lot (21 countries to date), and camping in Botswana with Bushways is my #1 top travel experience. I have LOTS of people here in the states asking me about the trip, so maybe I can send some business your way over the next few years. And I personally hope to return and do another camping safari in the future.

Baglady1955,

I went on the trip with lodging, most trips are camping; excellent opportunity to see all types of wildlife and meet great people. Small group, up-close-and-personal contact with nature. Guides, cooks and helpers all fabulous, go the extra mile to find animals, provide comforts, and adjust routines to fit group needs. There is nothing else in the world like the Okovango delta; I’ve been to South Luangwa, Serengeti, Masai Mara, Ngorogoro, this was totally different.

Frank Griffith,

I have engaged Bushways Safaris on three different occasions and am anxiously awaiting 2019 to go again. This adventure never gets old and seems not to repeat itself. The guides are knowledgeable in all of the aspects of the adventure, flora, fauna and exceedingly proficient in bird identification. This is the best of the best!
